My Messy Box February Themes 2020

My Messy Box February Themes 2020

2020 sure is proving itself to be a challenging year. On the bright side, we have made it to February, so this must mean that our fighting spirits are only getting stronger!

During this time, it is important to protect your little ones as they also do their best to grow, learn and play. For this reason, My Messy Box takes pride in centering our boxes on bringing fun, engaging learning inside the home.

Looking forward, here are this month’s My Messy Box themes and highlights:

Explorers Box (approx. 12-18 months old)
Theme: The colour orange

Highlights: Following our colour of the month, orange, get ready for your little Explorer to build cognitive development through making a sensory bottle filled with all things orange! There’s also a mess-free carrot painting craft, and super tactile orange jumbo pasta “carrots” that your child can feed the toy bunny!

Discoverers Box (approx. 19-24 months old)

Theme: Tea Party

Highlights: We’ve switched up the tiger craft by using a dropper; this creates a unique pattern effect while building your child’s fine motor skills! They will also learn how to make tea with the cutest mini tea set and water beads, while the starter activity will have them heightening literacy skills with a chomping tiger hand puppet!

Adventurers Box (2-3 years old)

Theme: On top of Spaghetti

Highlights: Is your little chef ready to serve up some “spaghetti” all in the name of numeracy, fine motor skill and cognitive development? They will be counting “meatballs” with soft, brown clay, making their very own “spaghetti” through a unique tactile experience, and even serving up spaghetti with real pasta!

Bloomers Box (3 years and up)

Theme: Ice cream

We’ve revamped this box with the most adorable ice cream fridge magnet making activity that will not only boost your child’s fine motor skills but will bring some decorative flair to your home! This box is also perfect for cognitive and literacy development as your child learns the steps to making ice cream, and enjoy playing pretend as an ice cream shop owner with the colourful rice sensory base, popsicle moulds and more!

As every box comes complete with all necessary materials and instruction sheets, this is perfect for the busy parent to try out sensory play for babies and toddlers at home.
